Meet the team

CEO – Mr Orlando Mardner: MSc, CMAS, CFIP, Dpi, CPO, CPOI, PFSO, SSO, M-ISRM

Orlando has spent many years in the military where he first developed a passion for keeping people safe and secure. Upon leaving the military service he embarked on a journey in the private security industry where he has developed an extensive range of knowledge and experience while working on the front line as a door and events supervisor/manager. It was during this period in his career that Orlando began his first successful security services business in North London.

Trained and qualified in a wide range of disciplines including close protection, maritime, private investigation, security, spectator safety, events, health and safety and first aid disciplines his career in the private security industry gained momentum and has gone from strength to strength.

As a professional trainer he has trained individuals spanning from London to Hungary as well as provided specialist expertise police training in Abu Dhabi.
An experienced Executive Close Protection specialist, he has provided protection to individuals from a wide spectrum, and continues to protect high profile government officials, actors, musicians, sports personalities and business people.

With a burning desire to make a difference in the world of private security, Orlando has used his ambition and innovative ability to develop his ideas of creating an establishment that focuses on promoting and providing security education, training, professionalization learning and development excellence.

Professional Security Academy (PSA) UK Ltd (a part of the PSA Synergi Group), has been developed to close the professional security career and professional development gap that exists between the front line security operatives and those who wish to embark on a career in security management, security consultancy, further education or higher education within the security industry.
The PSA Orlando Mardner Holdings Group also includes PSA Graduate Academy, Synterna Security Solutions and the Social Enterprise Boot Camp 4uth. Orlando is still continuing to evolve and grow in his chosen career by recently successfully completing a level 7 Certified Security Management Qualification with Bucks New University and will be taking a Master Degree in Master Of Science Organisational Resilience in 2017. His personal interest includes music, football and psychology.

Executive Board Member – James Nattrass

James is a highly professional, organised, efficient Senior Police Officer; a Chief Inspector with 30 years extensive experience and expertise coordinating and commanding numerous high-profile strategic operations and critical incidents. Specialist Advisor within the arenas of Public Order, Event Management, Counter Terrorism and Critical Incident Command, managing multi-million budgets, leading and training teams and building the trust and confidence of the local community. Consistently maintaining the highest standards of professional practice and retaining an expert knowledge of police procedures and the law. A strong leader with a flexible approach to management and a strong team spirit, along with a natural ability to recognise potential and a willingness to assist individuals to achieve both operational and personal goals, leading to many highly productive and effective teams.

Executive Board Member – Neil Brewster

Neil Brewster served in the Intelligence Corps of the British Army for 12 years, which were spent as an Arabic linguist, analyst, debriefer and training instructor. His area of expertise is in the design and delivery of specialist intelligence collection training courses, interpersonal skills training and communication skills training. Neil holds a PGCE and a BA in Social Studies, and is an internal assessor and verifier for quality assurance. Outside of his formal career, Neil is a PADI Divemaster and keen motorcyclist.

Executive Board Member – Alvin Soomary

Alvin served as an Intelligence Operator in British Army’s Intelligence Corps, specialising in HUMINT operations. Alvin deployed within this role to Bosnia, Kosovo and Iraq, with outstanding and documented operational successes in exceptionally difficult environments. After a successful and enjoyable military career, Alvin joined the British Transport Police in London. Alvin was selected to become a Football Intelligence Officer. Alvin spent 8yrs in this post enjoying several notable and well reported successes in combating football hooliganism and right-wing extremism. Alvin exceeded every single Key Performance Indicators placed upon him during this time. Alvin worked closely with other agencies, the Football Association, train operating companies and a variety of media organisations. During this time Alvin was involved in setting English Case Law whilst also managing a team of 12 specialist Police Officers. Alvin is also a qualified trainer and assessor and used these skills to train experienced and probationary Police Officers.
