About iAPSP

The International Association of Private Security Professionals (iAPSP) is a membership body for individuals and companies working or running their business in the private security sector. The association was founded to create a platform to manage security operatives with professionalism. iAPSP is a globally recognized security association, and it is reputable for its integrity and professionalism. We provide our members with services in compliance with growing demand, providing specialized and improved services to our members. There is no location too far or any standard or issue too technical for us to handle.

iAPSP operates under four strategic pillars: Increase of Professional Standards, Participation, and Knowledge Encourage Professionalisation across the industry and Increase Standard Alignment and Consistency. We stand by these standards to ensure that our members always feel safe and genuinely understand the meaning of professionalism.

Data Processing
We handle a lot of personal data and are concerned about the safety of our members at all thems. At iAPSP, we process members personal data with legitimate interest and under the Security Industry Authority (SIA) umbrella. This is a regulatory body for private security industries. It publishes the standard that describes how the application, registration, and licensing process can be made by showing commitment and competence and put steps in place to facilitate these processes. 

Safe Data Security
iAPSP prides itself in using state-of-the-art data security technologies. Therefore, all data handled by the iAPSP are held securely. We process personal data by passing it through dot-mailer ltd. iAPSP stores personal data until the completion of the Standard Review or until March 2021, whichever comes first. 

The iAPSP does not collect or process special categories of personal data or sensitive data such as race, ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, and trade union membership. 

Strong of Ethical Principles
We operate by a statement of ethical principles, which is a result of extensive consultation within the private security industry and with other professionals specializing in applied ethics. Our ethical principles are founded on four fundamental principles designed to uphold the core code of conduct published by the SIA. As a member of the IAPSP, you will be compelled to commit to working and maintaining all ethical and social laws responsibly, following our code of conduct.

Our commitment
We believe that all individuals engaged in private security, irrespective of their level, should have some form of education, and they should be encouraged to work following these ethical principles. The statement of the ethical tenets is offered employers and to education, training, and qualification providers to include in their curricula if they dim it necessary. This is to ensure that the public recognizes private security as a trusted, reliable, respectable, and ethical profession. 

The statement of ethical principles is supported by four fundamental principles: leadership and communication, accuracy and vigour, respect for life, law, environment, public safety, and honesty, and integrity.
